Do
I need to provide any documents to the court?
You must provide the Trustee a copy of
the last two year’s federal and state income tax returns no
later than 7 days prior to the 341 meeting or your case
shall be dismissed. Also, you must provide the trustee with
a copy of all your pay stubs, or other proof of income
received six months prior to the filing of your petition.
So, if you file your petition on September 6, 2008, you
must give the trustee your pay stubs from March 6, 2008 –
September 6, 2008. Failure to do so will result in a
dismissal of your case. The best rule of thumb is to have
all these documents prepared before you file your case. You
need these documents to prepare your petition, anyway, so
you should already have them.
